Established 1947 by it's founder George T. Schmidt as a residential remodeling contractor, George started to establish himself as a quality oriented contractor. By the 50's and 60's George was building single family houses and remodeling light commercial store front and office renovations. Also during this time he was getting a reputation for building additions to various churches in the region. George as well started delving into building water and sewage treatment plants and pump stations for local municipalities.
During the late 70's his son Tom entered the business. At this time and thru the 80's, they both were building mid-rise residental apartment buildings, new curches of various denominations, light commercial buildings, warehouses and schools.
The 90's thru today brought on more commercial contracts from warehousing, office renovations and manufacturing facilities, to hospital renovations , medical office spaces and higher end residential projects. The list of clients are a list of the who's who in the LV region such as, Lehigh Valley Hospital & Health Network, St. Lukes Hospital, Blue Mountain Health System, Pencor Corp, Davis Beverage Group, Palmerton School District, Pleasant Valley School District, Carbon County AVT Center, First National Bank Of Palmerton, Catholic Diocese Of Scranton and Allentown and Various Municipalities in the area.
The attributes and values that it's founder George T. Schmidt has instilled in it's employees over the years has been to treat the customer fairly, honestly, help educate the customer, give them the best product for their money, but most importantly, build a relationship.-Our firm has done this each and every time it enters into a contract and will continue to do so.
All of the firms listed above are repeat customers of George T. Schmidt Inc. and if it wasn't to build a project for them, it may be to manage a project for them or review budgets for their board of directors.
